Bo’s Vacation to Moultrie Georgia

July 4th Weekend 2010

We were invited up for a very relaxing weekend with our friends Robin and Bob to Moultrie, Georgia this past weekend. This farm has been in their family for many generations and they needed to make a trip up anyway, so they invited us to tag along. They insisted we bring Bo.  After about a 5 hour drive we arrived and Bo was introduced to his new friend Mocha.

After unloading the 4-wheelers, fishing poles and other gear we kicked back and prepared for a busy weekend doing just about anything we wanted! Bo was in heaven! Since we rescued him he has not been outdoors without a leash, it is just too dangerous in Tampa for that. Soon he was running all over the area sniffing and playing with Mocha. We took a long walk and explored the woods around the farm. They found a very nice spring fed pond and jumped right in. Robin and I were checking out deer tracks and avoiding gnats while the dogs played in the water. We walked back to where we left Rob and Bob and they were just fishing and hanging out. After a while we went and checked in at our hotel in Tifton; if we had known the weather was going to be so perfect we would have camped! Bo was happy to get to the room and take a nap with “Dad” in our pet-friendly room at Fairfield Inn. Robin and I picked up some ribs and such for dinner and took them by Bob’s parent’s house just up the road at the farm. After a fantastic meal prepared by Bob’s parents (with lots of home grown vegetables!) we went back down to the pond for more fishing and so fun on the 4-wheelers. When the sun has long past set we headed back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep. I was asleep before my head hit the pillow….now that was relaxing!

The next day was spent doing all of the same as well as shooting our bows and our guns; we had fun with some target practice! After another fantastic meal at Bob’s parents we hit the road and headed home. Bo slept the whole way. This was the best vacation he had ever had, it was great seeing him” being a dog”

What a wonderful place a farm is. There was so much to see and do, I can’t wait to take him back there again! Thanks to Robin and Bob for “Bo’s Vacation”!

About notacluegal

Jeanene was born in Pittsburgh, PA. As a young child her family was very active in the outdoors. Things changed when her parents decided to travel down different paths in life and with that decision so went many of the opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Being lucky to live in the suburbs Jeanene always had a backyard to play in and loved being outdoors. As the years passed she took every opportunity to be outdoors. She bought land in Tennessee and as a single mom moved her young daughter to the mountains. The were many life lessons learned on that mountain. There was no plumbing on the property – or even a house, but that did not stop her. She learned to live off of what was available and built her own cabin from the trees on her property. Those were rough years but the most rewarding. Now Jeanene resides in Tampa, Fl. and works as an office manager full time….but still yeans to be outdoors. Jeanene started “Not a Clue Adventures” to teach everyone she could how wonderful the outdoors are! That camping and fishing and hiking can be done by everyone and at many different levels. Single mom’s no longer have to be afraid to take their sons and daughters outdoors. By working with young couples, single parents and even seniors, she gets to teach others about her love for the outdoors and hopes to open their eyes to new adventures. In 2009, Jeanene completed certification as a Leave No Trace Instructor. She also works closely with the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) and the Florida State Parks. Jeanene is also certified in First Aid/Adult CPR.
