Jan 1, 2011
Last week I took a family out camping for 2 nights and it was so rewarding. The children were wonderfully behaved, all 4 of them. I was able to spend time with 2 wonderful parents and watch them as they nurtured their children ages 5-11. This last trip of the year reminded me again why I started Not a Clue Adventures. It was wonderful seeing the joy in the children’s eyes when they found their first geo-cache and as they canoed with their parents down the Little Manatee River. Children are like sponges and we need to make sure they are soaking up the good stuff!
I have met many wonderful people over this past year and experienced along with them many new and exciting places. To the state park staff, local photographers, and other wildlife educators I came across on this journey, I give you my thanks! I feel I have learned as much as those I have served. I wish all of you a wonderful new year and I look forward to spending time with each of you again.
This year we will have even more to offer, more opportunities are opening up and my “new” day-job is much more flexible in giving me the time I need to serve more clients. Not a Clue Adventures is now actively serving all of Central Florida from Tampa to Daytona and White Springs to Ft. Myers!
We will continue to offer many or the group trips that we managed last year. We will again do our “Overnight Suwannee River Paddle’, “Citrus Loop Hike”, “Anclote Key Primitive Campout/Paddle”, “Haunted Halloween” and the “Pre-Holiday Escape Campout” . We will also again work with the FWC Beyond BOW program and offer “Intro to Shotgun and Sporting Clays Class”, “ Intro to Kayaking on the Weeki Wachee”, and “ Intro to Camping”, “Scalloping at Steinhatchee”. All Beyond BOW events will continue to be open to families. In addition I have been asked to take over managing the Woman’s Management hunt in Estill, SC. for BOW.
Not a Clue Adventures staff is still participating in many not for profit events and we are still able to continue to educate all on the “Leave No Trace Principles”. We are also looking forward to more Geo-Caching events with my dear friend Sheryl Kay this year as well as working with the Larry Roberts at the Crowley Museum and Nature Center in Sarasota.
I encourage all of you to get out and try something new this year, enjoy the gifts nature has to share with us and get out of the hustle and bustle of city life for a bit. I look forward to seeing all of you again this year!
